Login to your router DSL-224 Configuration Page.
Information you must know before trying to login to your WIFI Router configuration page:
- DSL-224 default IP Address >> 10.0.0.2
- DSL-224 default login username> admin, default password> admin
Open your browser ( Google chrome, Internet explorer, ...etc) and write in the address bar

A Pop up screen asking for username and password, type admin in both fields and press enter, but if it didn't work may be you changed the default admin password before So type your admin password and then press enter.
If you didn't remember your admin password in this case you have to reset your router to it's default factory settings. How to reset your router to it's factory default settings?
but you must know that resetting your router will erase all configuration on it and you have to configure/ Setup the router for internet connection >>How to Setup dlink DSL-224 wireless router.
After login, you will see router configuration page as below screenshot.
in this screen you could change some wireless parameters like:
- Enable / Disable wireless feature
If you put Check mark in front of Disable wireless LAN Interface. you will notice that WiFi led on your router will be Off and no wireless connection will be available for your home.
- Change Wireless network name > SSID
SSID is the field where you could change your wireless network name, Default is D-link and you could change it to any other name you want.
- Channel Number.
if your wireless performance is not doing well, Coverage is very week try to change this channel number instead of auto into channel 1 Or 6 Or 11 to decrease interference with other surrounding wireless networks.
- Radio Power(Percentage).
This is the percentage of power that should be transmitted from your wireless router.
Select from 10%, 25%, 50%, 80%, and 100%.
- Associated Clients
This will show you Active Wireless Clients with their MAC Addresses, Transmission and reception packets.
After Changing your Wireless network name (SSID) Click on Apply Changes.

Wireless Security Settings.
Here are the settings to secure your Wireless Network.
From left hand side Wireless settings > click on wireless security.
- WPS Setup.
IF your are setting your wireless manually, it would be better to disable WPS( Wireless Protected setup) for your Network Security.
- Wireless SSID.
Select which wireless network you want to set password For.
- Wireless Security Mode.
This device supports three wireless security methods including: WEP, WPA and WPA2.
WEP is the original wireless encryption standard. (Week Encryption, Not preferred)
WPA and WPA2 provides a higher level of security.
If you set Security mode to none, This means your wireless network is Open and any one can connect to it and share the internet usage with you.
You could Select Security mode: WPA (TKIP) or WPA (AES).
Below make sure that:
WPA Authentication Mode is set to Personal (Pre-Sahred Key)
Pre-Shared Key Format: Passphrase.
Pre-Shared Key : Type your password ( any password must be more than 8 Numbers or Characters)
Click on Apply Changes.
After changing your wireless network name and/Or password you have to re connect to your new network from your laptop or Smartphone.
